The Mardaani of Bollywood, Rani Mukherjee was born in Mumbai on 21 March 1978. She received her education at Maneckji Cooper High School in Juhu and graduated with a degree in Home Science from SNDT Women's University. Rani is a trained Odissi dancer. She made her debut with the film Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat and began her full-time career in films and the 1998 action drama Ghulam was her first commercial success. She gained wider recognition for a supporting role in the romance Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (
