Earlier this afternoon, while on air patrol over the Sonoma Coast, Sheriff’s Helicopter “Henry-1” responded to Fort Ross State Park for a person stranded on a rock. H1 arrived first on scene, approximately 3 minutes later. The victim had walked out to a rock offshore which then become surrounded by water because of the rising tide. The H1 Tactical Flight Officer (TFO) configured the aircraft for a long line rescue. The pilot then flew the TFO on the end of a 100’ long line to the victim who was
